Rockwood, Roane County (WVLT) - A man accused of rape, who escaped from jail over the weekend, is back in custody in Roane County.
Deputies say 35-year-old Dennis McLean and another inmate attacked a corrections officer Saturday night at the Roane County Jail Annex in Rockwood.
Officers recaptured the other inmate fairly quickly, but McLean remained on the loose until early Monday morning.
Acting on a tip, investigators went to a home on Polland Hollow Road at about 3:00 a.m. Monday and took Dennis McLean into custody.
In addition to the original charges, officers say McLean is also facing felony escape and assault charges.
