Video will be available shortly.

Knoxville (WVLT) - We now know the name of a man police say was murdered in East Knoxville.

Knoxville police identify him as 27-year-old Curtis Phoenix who is originally from South Carolina, but was living in Knoxville.

Police have charged 23-year-ole Kristie Smith with Phoenix's murder.

They say she lived with the victim.

Authorities went to the Holston Mobile Home Park on Holston Drive just before 11 o'clock to check on the phoenix, whom his family hadn't heard from in several days.

Workers at the quality bakers, located across the street from the man's home, say the victim was a well-liked co-worker.

"He got along with everybody, comedian, good person, always had a happy face, always make jokes, never bothered a soul," says DeMarcus Bingham, a friend and co-worker of Phoenix.

The medical examiner will do an autopsy to determine phoenix's exact cause of death.
