Gatlinburg woman dies when SUV plunges off cliff near Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Gatlinburg woman died late Monday night in a car accident when her car went over a cliff near Pigeon Forge, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.

Investigators say 40-year-old Dawn Hercutt was driving north on Walker Trail when she lost control in a curve and went over a cliff

Hercutt's SUV landed on large boulders about 125 feet over the cliff.

She was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
