Alcoa, Blount County (WVLT) - We're expecting new details this afternoon from police about a two shooting early Sunday morning in Blount County.
One involving two men, and the other, a few miles down the road as officers tried to stop the suspect.
Investigators aren't releasing the suspect's name, but will say he is a 36-year-old Hispanic man and was driving a vehicle with Loudon County tags.
They say the man shot 22-year-old Christopher Ross in the parking lot of an apartment complex on US Highway 411 early Sunday morning.
Metropolitan Airport Authority Officer Corey Shane Ogle spotted a vehicle matching the suspect's description and pulled it over.
Police say the suspect got out of his car and fired several rounds at Ogle, who returned fire and hit the suspect twice in the torso.
The suspect remains in the hospital.
Ross is in serious condition, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officer Ogle was not hurt. He has been placed on paid administrative leave while the incident is investigated by the Blount County Sheriff's Department, a standard procedure.
Police say at this time they do not believe Ross and the suspect had any history.
