Knoxville (WVLT) - You may soon have 55 more free parking spaces to use in Downtown Knoxville.
After months and months of debate and studies, the Knox County Commission voted Monday to open an outdoor deck of the city-county parking garage on nights and weekends.
Mayors Bill Haslam and Mike Ragsdale are working hand-in-hand on the plan that would give you access to more waterfront parking without compromising security.
If City Council approves the plan, officials say the garage could be open in 4 to 8 weeks, after $70,000 worth of security improvements.
