Knoxville (WVLT) -- On Sunday afternoon a pregnant teenager was ejected from the car she was traveling in when it struck a tree.
The accident occurred in the Cumberland Estates neighborhood of Knoxville at the intersections of Newberry and Deerfield.
There were three passengers in the car including a 16 year-old driver. In the back seat of the car was the pregnant teen who was not wearing a safety belt.
According to KPD she was in serious condition at UT Medical Sunday night. She suffered significant facial injuries in the wreck, but her injuries are not life threatening and her pregnancy is not in jeopardy.
