Knoxville (WVLT) - Six students involved in an early morning bus crash have been treated for their injuries and released.
Knoxville Police officers say according to witnesses, Bus 585, which was taking students to Holston Middle School, was headed down the ramp from I-40 East onto Asheville Highway.
When the bus reached the bottom of the ramp, the bus driver ran into the back of a landscaping truck.
The bus driver tells investigators there was a problem, right before the crash.
"The driver of the bus indicated she heard a pop, after the pop, she felt like she had no breaks and she feels like that's what caused the problem," says Darrell DeBusk from the Knoxville Police Department.
The bus has been impounded for inspection, the driver of the bus or the truck were not injured.
No charges have been filed, pending the outcome of the investigation
