Knoxville (WVLT) -- Police have released new details about Saturday afternoon's deadly wreck in East Knoxville.
KPD say's 39 year-old David T. Cassidy of Corryton was heading over a hill on Rutledge Pike when his 2006 Dodge Ram pickup truck struck a 2003 Buick Century sedan that was making a turn from Spring Hill Road. The impact pushed the sedan into a utility pole, killing it's driver, 57-year-old Connie G. White, of Knoxville.
Cassidy was taken from the scene by ambulance to UT Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Police say the investigation is on going but according to witnesses they have interviewed, speed was a factor. KPD say's charges are pending for Cassidy.
