Nashville, TN (WVLT) Lawmakers are set to consider the Governor's 28 billion dollar budget plan in the coming weeks.
It includes more than 200 million dollars in new education money coming from an increased cigarette tax.
The budget also contains half a billion dollars for capital projects.
Those include 41 million dollars for a new bio-fuels refinery at UT.
32 million for site improvements at UT's new research campus and 53 million for maintenance, repair and updates at all the state colleges and universities.
