10 Arrested in Drugs By Mail Case

Knoxville (WVLT) - Ten people are facing charges, after authorities discovered 150 pounds of marijuana being transported through the mail.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says agents were contacted last week by the Knoxville Office of the US Postal Inspector, after some suspicious packages were intercepted from Texas.

Three of the suspects, Ismary Lugo, Elidoro Martinez and Josue Pimentel were arrested in Hamblen County.

Authorities also seized about one ounce of cocaine and nearly $24,000 in cash.

Agents say the marijuana has a street value of $127,000.
