Local Red Cross Volunteer Heading to Alabama

Knoxville (WVLT) - Folks in Enterprise, Alabama continue to search through rubble after Thursday's tornadoes.

Five people died at the school where students became pinned when the roof collapsed. Two other people died in other parts of the state.

Meanwhile, an American Red Cross volunteer from East Tennessee is getting ready to head to Enterprise Saturday morning to help with relief efforts.

Cindy Clabough is trained in shelter operations, but she says she's ready to help in any way she's needed.

"There are a lot of displaced, a lot of people hungry, a lot of people that are just confused and need a little bit of compassion and don't know where to go, just need some relief effort," Clabough said.

Clabough has been volunteering with the Red Cross since hurricane Katrina. She says she could be in enterprise anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
