Knoxville (WVLT) - A local family has plenty to celebrate.
Chief Petty Officer Jeffrey Every returned home Friday from a six month tour of duty in Iraq.
He arrived at McGhee Tyson Airport just after nine p.m.
Friends and family members were waiting for Every at the airport.
Every says it feels good to be home.
"It feels good to be home. I was in Iraq for six months. It was a long tour, hard tour, but it's great to be back with family. I'm looking forward to getting back to Japan where I'm stationed with my shipmates," Every said.
He says the first thing he wants to do when he gets home is get some sleep.
