More Than 100 Say Good-Bye to Sevier County Teen

Sevier County (WVLT) -- More than 100 loved ones came out to say good-bye to 15 year old Jesse Shane Norrell.

Norrell, a freshman at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School was killed while crossing Jones Cove Road on Thursday morning.

The visitation ran from 1 to 5pm at the Rawlings funeral Home in Sevierville.

His wishes were to be cremated and interred with his mother who passed away last year. The Interment will take place in the Whitted Family Cemetery on Thursday.

The following is from a letter that Jesse's family passed along to us.

"The Norrell Family would like to thank this community for all the support they have received throughout the course of this tragic event."

The letter continued,

" ...Many others have lost their lives recently due to the unsafe conditions that exist on the mountain roads that are stitched together throughout East Tennessee. It is the hope and prayer of the Norrell Family that as a community we will address and take action to correct the danger zones that cost the lives of our loved ones."
