KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A man has died following a late Thursday night motorcycle crash in West Knoxville.

The Knoxville Police Department said passersby called 911 at 11:03 p.m. to report a motorcycle wreck on Walker Springs Road near Walbrook Drive.

According to officers, Sean Becker, 22 of Knoxville was headed south on Walker Springs when he lost control of his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and ran off the road into a wooded area. Paramedics rushed him to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

An accident reconstruction team was still on the scene early Friday morning. Investigators believe Becker was speeding at the time of the crash and that his motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.
