Knoxville (WVLT) – A local restaurant at the center of a legal battle has agreed to surrender its beer permit to the city.
Michael's in West Knoxville has agreed to give up its permit to serve beer at the restaurant, in exchange the city has dropped all charges against the establishment.
Under the agreement, Michael's and its owners will not be allowed to apply for a new beer permit for at least five years.
Just before the New Year, the city revoked Michael's beer permit an underage police informant purchased a drink at the establishment.
A few weeks after the city pulled the beer permit, the state revoked its liquor license. The liquor license was later returned and the bar has been in midst of a legal feud with the city ever since.
