Halls, Knox County (WVLT) - A man with 15 outstanding warrants has been arrested in Halls following a police chase.
Deputies say the suspect, 36-year-old Jad Mubarek drove through subdivisions, across yards and ended up in a soccer field off Meadow Glade Road.
Deputies say Mubarek then tried to fight them off before he was arrested.
Mubarek is in custody facing 15 outstanding warrants and he could face more charges. The 15 outstanding warrants are from Knoxville Police Department and are theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, evading arrest, failure to appear on domestic assault, assaults, failure to appear for assault, and failure to appear for resisting stops.
They found him after a clerk at a nearby gas station allegedly caught him trying to pass a bad check.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Mubarek has an extensive criminal history including possession of drug paraphernalia, evading arrest, driving without a license, theft, several assaults, five failures to appear, one violation of probation, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment.
