TVA Shuts Down Reactor at Sequoyah As Precaution

Knoxville (AP) -- A reactor at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant near Chattanooga was shut down as a precaution after a feedwater pump malfunctioned.

Operators shut down the Unit 2 Reactor Tuesday after noticing the problem.

TVA said it posed no danger to employees or the public.

The pump supplies water to a steam generator at the plant.
