Mohammed Says He Executed Journalist Daniel Pearl

Washington (AP) -- Transcripts show nine-eleven mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed confessed to beheading Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

The Pentagon has released a revised transcript of the military hearing at Guantanamo Bay in which the al-Qaeda number-three man confessed to plotting more than 30 attacks, including every detail of nine-eleven.

In the new material, Mohammed is quoted as saying: "I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl." in the transcript, Mohammed adds that pictures had been posted on the internet of him holding pearl's head.

A Pentagon spokesman says that section was held back when the transcript was initially released to allow time for Pearl's family to be notified.

Pearl was abducted in Pakistan in January 2002 while researching a story on Islamic militancy.
