(WVLT) - A radio station is off the air after an overnight fire.
The owner of WANO radio in Pineville in Bell County says it appears someone set the station on fire just before ten o'clock Sunday night.
He says it destroyed the inside of the building, including the station's transmitter.
Owner Joshua Wilkey says this not only hurts WANO, but the entire community.
"People may think they've burnt my building down, it's my building, but you've hurt the community, you've deprived the community of their radio station, and you will for a few months while we rebuild."
Wilkey says they did not have insurance.
They just celebrated 50 years on the air Friday.
