Two Hospitalized After High Speed Chase

Knoxville (WVLT) - An early afternoon car chase has left two people hospitalized.

State troopers say the chase began in Union County, close to the Knox County border just after noon.

The officer clocked a vehicle going 87 miles per hour.

After several attempts to pull the driver over, a chase ensued down Maynardville Highway.

The driver of the vehicle lost control and hit a truck head on.

The truck driver was taken to Saint Mary's while the suspect was taken to UT Medical Center.

Officers say alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
