Maryville, Blount County (WVLT) - Three people are in custody, suspects in a violent home invasion in Blount County in the early morning hours on Thursday.
We first brought you the story Thursday, Keith Patterson and his wife answered their door, only to have an armed man and two others force their way in.
The couple was tied up and battered and bruised during the incident.
Victim Keith Patterson says the person driving the stolen vehicle when deputies stopped them was his grandson.
However, Patterson says his grandson wasn't one of three who invaded the home.
Authorities say three people held Keith Patterson and his wife, Charlene at gunpoint, tied them up and covered them in a blanket, while they robbed them at their Hamil Road home in Friendsville.
Less than 36 hours later, Blount County Sheriff's Deputies spotted Patterson's stolen vehicle on I-75 in Loudon County Friday morning.
Patterson says he's happy to see detectives working so quickly. He says he and his wife both are still a little shaken and after being tied at the wrists, they're hands feel better.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to question the three suspects here at the Blount County Justice Center, they won't release their identities until they are charged with the crime.
If that happens, we will have their names for you tonight on the NightWATCH and on VolunteerTV.com.
