Demolition Begins on Debuty Family's Home

Blount County (WVLT) - Efforts to help a Blount County family rebuild, after fire destroyed their home and took the lives of four children are in high gear this afternoon.

Monday morning, the demolition began on Ross and Amanda Debuty's home.

It's part of the "One Home, Many Hands" project.

Last month, fire took all the family had, and more, four of the couple's five children were killed: Mandy Mason, Jerry Debuty, Sinjin Smith and Shelby Debuty.

Today, it's because of you their lives are getting back on track.

"We've had calls from all types of companies, we have multiple coverage in some areas, so we've got some folks will be doing labor, some folks will be supplying materials, it's just been a huge outpour from the community," Chris Flynn, from Joseph Construction Company.
