Chapman Highway Crash

(WVLT) - Police say a Sevierville man will face drunk driving charges after a car accident early this morning.

The Knoxville Police Department says 25 year-old Tyler Tarwater was driving on Chapman Highway at about midnight when he lost control of his car and hit a power pole near Brandau Drive.

The car flipped and landed on its top.

Fire crews had to extract Tarwater from the vehicle.

Paramedics took him to U.T. Medical center where he's listed in stable condition.

Police tell us an off-duty security guard saw the car weaving before the crash and called police.

They say they found a twelve pack of beer in the car.
