All East Tennessee Fires Contained

Knoxville (WVLT) - All brush fires in East Tennessee are contained this afternoon.

However, the Forestry Division OF THE Tennessee Department of Agriculture is no longer writing burn permits.

This afternoon, the fire on House Mountain has been contained, but not before burning hundreds of acres.

Tuesday, fire officials say six fires burned more than 500 acres in the Knoxville District.

A series of arsons set in Scott County burned 250 acres. Another arson set near Townsend burned nearly 200 acres.
