Officials Identify Driver in Fatal Tanker Explosion

Knoxville (WVLT) - We now know the name of the man killed in Monday morning's deadly tanker crash and explosion in West Knoxville.

Knoxville Police say the preliminary investigation indicates 36-year-old Wesley Shane Mounger, of Fall Branch, lost control of the tanker truck, jack-knifed and overturned. The tanker then caught fire and burst into flames.

Mounger died in crash.

Investigators say speed was a contributing factor in the crash and the tanker was not on fire prior to the accident.
