This situation could have been avoided if action had been taken when professors had submitted his writings, and told counselors about his erattic behavior in the past. I blame those who say we can't infringe on his rights until he does something. Get real! They all wear the blood of these students and I hope they think about the consequences the next time a student is referred to them who shows signs of this kind of behavior.

Our hearts and prayer are with the Hokies. I called my daughter (who is in school in another state) continually until I heard her voice when this was announced. This is every parents nightmare and it gets worse every minute. May G_d bless these victims and their families. "Death will come, always out of season" Big Elk

My thoughts & prayers are with the students & faculty of VT at this time of sadness. This should have never happened to these young people & professionals. It was a senseless & tragic act. These students were our future and my heart goes out to all of the families.

Why didn't they take proper steps when the shooting started? you'd think after the first shots were fired, the school would have locked down then! rather than give him a chance to shoot others.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 teaches us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lead not on your own understanding, But, acknowledge Him in all you do and he shall direct your paths." The hearts of a nation's people are with Va Tech student population, its staff, faculty and especially -- the victims and their families. God bless you all with peace and comfort.

The people of Harlan, KY would like to express our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims of this insane act of violence in Blacksburg. Something like this should never have happened, but God always has a plan. Alot of times however, God's plan is not what we want to happen. Our prayers are with you. Be strong in this time of tragedy.
