LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT: Freezing temperatures will develop later tonight, causing damage to flowers and plants that are left exposed to the cold. Be sure to bring in your potted plants before you go to bed, as lows drop into the lower to mid 20s...about 25 degrees for Knoxville and Oak Ridge. Look for 1 to 3" of snow for the Smokies by morning.
Knoxville (WVLT) - It's at the top of parent's minds in Knox County and tonight they're doing something about it.
Of course, we're talking about school re-zoning.
First, we just found out the school board has unanimously approved the 2007-2008 general purpose school fund budget.
Some good news there, but now the meeting will get interesting.
There's a crowd of several dozen parents here tonight and most of them have been blasting the board about the proposed rezoning.
Parents from Farragut and Powell make up the majority of the crowd, but they've made signs, and have come with ideas of their own for rezoning.
Parents are getting a chance tonight, for the first time, to talk to the board.
