Morristown Preacher Killed in Crash

(WVLT) - A car accident in Morristown has left a local preacher dead and another person in the hospital.

Morristown police say 74-year-old Reverend Paul Devotie was trying to cross Davy Crockett Parkway in his truck Thursday, when he pulled in front of another car and was hit.

Police say Reverend Devotie was thrown from the vehicle.

He died of his injuries.

The driver of the other car, 24-year-old Melissa Snell, was taken to U.T. Medical Center and is in stable condition this morning.

The Morristown Citizen Tribune reports Devotie was the pastor at the Home Mission Church in Morristown and he was on his way to a wedding when the crash happened.

Although i am very saddend about the loss of rev. paul devotie, we are forgetting the person who was also involved in that car accident. Melissa, although a very strong woman, is having a very hard time dealing with the condition she is currently in. She has two broken ankles and isn't going to be able to walk for the next 4 months. She was simply on her way to pick up her boyfriend from work when rev. paul devotie and her collided. This is something she'll have to live with every day for the rest of her life, and she is currently having nightmares from the whole thing. Although, like i said, i am very sorry for the loss of a loved one, there is still one more victim out there needing prayers and encouragement.. Please help her with that.
