Knox County Deputy Taken to Hospital After Crash

Knoxville (WVLT) - A Knox County Sheriff's deputy is recovering after a minor traffic crash.

It happened around 9 p.m. on Clinton Highway at Merchants.

A Knox County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman tells us another vehicle sideswiped the cruiser while changing lanes, sending the cruiser into the median.

The deputy was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured.

The deputy's name is not being released at this time.
