KPD Fugitive Arrested In Newport

Knoxville (WVLT) -- After a full day of searching, Knoxville Police have finally taken Anthony Davenport, 19, in to custody.

A warrant's for his arrest was issued on Friday after a fight he was involved with on Wednesday night

Police say during that fight, Davenport shot Travis Monroe, 17, in the chest and arm.

Last night they received a tip on his where-a-bouts, and he was located and taken into custody in Newport.

Davenport will be charged with attempted first degree murder.

He is currently in the Knox County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond.

Mister Monroe was last reported in stable condition at UT Medical Center.
