Tornado Reported In Cumberland County, No Injuries Reported

Crossville, Cumberland County (AP) -- A possible tornado touched down several times over a four and one-half-mile long path near Crossville Thursday afternoon.

No injuries were reported, although there was damage to a number of trees and outbuildings.

Also, one trailer had its roof peeled off, but no one was inside at the time.

The National Weather Service said it received reports of a touchdown, but officials would not be able to confirm it until crews investigated on Friday.

The weather service also reported that a trained spotter saw a tornado touch down in Morgan County, but a sheriff's dispatcher in Wartburg said there were no reports of damage.

The power was reported out in some parts of Morgan County.

The weather system moved on to the east and pounded counties north of Knoxville Thursday night.

Tornado warnings were in effect for several counties along the Cumberland Plateau and north of Knoxville.
