Grainger County (WVLT) – Search crews have found the body of a man they say drowned while swimming in Cherokee Lake.
The body of 26-year-old Gary Ryan Stringer of Jefferson City was found Monday around 11:00 a.m. near Point 7 in Grainger County.
A Tennessee Valley Authority representative says a man was swimming in Cherokee Lake on the Grainger/Hamblen County line, Sunday at about 5:00 p.m., when he went under and never resurfaced.
