Knoxville (WVLT) - Cards or pictures colored by your children, even the little Mothers Day gifts your little ones make you at pre-school or in Sunday school like the little flower pots, those are some favorite mothers day gifts.
But there are some things out there you should stay away from when you do your last minute shopping.
It's hard to find the perfect gift for the woman who may already have everything, so to keep you from picking the wrong gift, we asked mom's today, what makes a less than memorable gift?
"Things you thinks great when you get it but then you find out you forget you have it and it goes in a closet and clutters up your house,” says Judy Reiber.
Mother's Day may be just around the corner, but that doesn't mean you should slack on your gift.
"Make sure that you keep in mind things that your Mom likes rather than just trying to go find things at the store that are displayed,” says Jenny Moore.
And mom's have a pretty good idea of what they don't want.
"If they buy me a lawn mower, that wouldn't work,” says Belinda Dandy.
"Foot massage things, things that you just put under the bed you forget it's there and you don't use it,” says Judy.
"I wouldn't want any pets, as in reptiles,” Belinda says.
So you may think the more you spend on your Mom the better the gift will be, but even though that $120 iron has all the bells and whistles, it may not be exactly what Mom's looking for.
"I don't think I would want, I guess your typical iron, and things that would make me have to do more work,” says Jenny.
"What about appliances?” Allison asks.
Belinda doesn’t seem pleased. “Umm, ah, they're ok.”
Mom's say Sunday isn't about getting things they need, they can get that stuff themselves, they say it's about getting things they want.
"That I would not buy myself, a bouquet of flowers, a day spa, a massage, something that is just fluff,” Judy says.
"This year they'll make me something and then Dad will write me a check and let me go shopping!" Belinda says.
There's only about two and a half day's left to get your gifts, and for some ideas:
