A LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT is in effect into Wednesday due repeated rainfall. A Flood Watch is in effect for our area until 7 AM Wednesday. Where there are more pauses in the rain, totals will be closer to 2 inches but some will receive at least 4 inches of rainfall total. Creeks and streams run high and areas with poor runoff could face flooding problems. Busy commute hours could face more slowdowns, with fog and standing water on roads as well.
Knox County (WVLT) - A missing kayaker at Concord Park in West Knox has been found, safe and sound.
Authorities began searching for Diane Binger Sunday evening, after she did not return her rented kayak.
The search was called off about midnight, but Monday morning, Binger was located.
No other information is being released at this time.
(WVLT) - The search will resume today for a missing kayaker in West Knoxville.
Investigators aren't releasing the woman's name but say she rented a kayak Sunday afternoon at Concord Park at about 1:00pm on Sunday.
Police were called when the woman did not return later in the day.
Crews from several agencies, including the Knox County Sheriff's Department and their helicopter, searched for the woman for several hours but did not find anything, so they called it off at about midnight.
The search will continue at later this morning.
