Knoxville (WVLT) - A man has been charged with one count of aggravated assault in an overnight stabbing.
KPD officials say they were called to the Walgreen’s on Clinton Highway just after 1:30 a.m. Monday morning to reports of a stabbing.
The victim 34-year-old Richard Jinks had been stabbed multiple times.
He was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Before that though, he was able to provide a description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle.
That's how police were able to catch up to 41-year-old James Anthony Wheeler at I-275 and Baxter Avenue.
Officials found blood on the car and also on Wheeler.
Again, wheeler was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
