Adult Business Draws Neighborhood Ire

West Knoxville (WVLT) -- There is new heat on a West Knoxville adult business already drawing its share.

The Adult Video Super Store sits close to a Mennonite Church, off Lovell Road.

Tonight, store managers held an outdoor cookout featuring a triple-x rated performer known as Lucious Linda.

There was no nudity, but neighbors claim the gathering takes the stores mature content off the racks and puts it into the community.

"There are thousands of children on a weekly basis, even a daily basis that go by here," said Cheryl Allmon, a concerned citizen and mother. "Between school buses, you have the Cellular One soccer fields, Premier Athletics, and the Episcopal School. You have all these children's facilities, and if this store were properly licensed as an adult store, it couldn't be here. "

Current laws ban new adult businesses from setting up within a thousand feet of churches, but this store set up shop, prior to that law's
passage.

Stop beating a dead horse. Let this one die. As much as some of us disagree with them, they aren't breaking any laws.

Laura, has made more sense than anyone who has posted in regards to this issue. The only thing Laura needs to think about, is she judging these porn people and if so, is that really her place to be doing so?

I don't think Steve said he hated anybody. And regarding "hating what you'll never be?" I think most people do not want to be in the industry of pornography that corrupts our minds and distorts our values. That is not hate. That is making the right moral choice. But if Steve was there, he needs to repent of his wicked ways before it is too late. I can just say this so read it closely - HELL will not be big enough to hold all of the Lucious Lindas, Tingling Tammys,Cuddly Candys and Voracious Veronicas in this world today!! As for me, I have a place reserved in a much better place beside my savior Jesus Christ. Do you know him? I think you should.

Hey Tim - How the heck do you decide to go from a Fortune 100 company exec to a porn star late in life? Something about that story does not add up. Also, is it really so important to know how to spell Luscious? So the name was spelled wrong and somebody else did the cookout? Isn't she still a porn star who was appearing at the video store? Oh, or maybe we should call her an Adult Film Star and Model?? Or just Sex Object? It doesn't sound as scummy that way does it? I bet her family is proud of her, huh?

You people are so pathetic! So much trash talk and the misspelled words? Come on Steve, "Don't worry about het takin ur men" ??? I doubt if anyone would want any of you or your men! That lady, "Luscious Linda" is so smoking hot, she wouldn't have any of you, so Steve is right about that, "Don't worry about het takin ur men"! Did Steve make it to the 5th grade? Again people, get a life and stop hating on what you will never be! I am not saying I agree with the video store or what that lady does, I don't get into it but to each his own! Will

Jason- Although I don't know Tim, I would agree with what he says in regards to you and people like you. As far as parties go, we have my husbands children EVERY weekend and don't leave the house without them. A party would be awfully fun! Also, Jason if your so high and mighty, why would you even talk to someone who went into an adult store or knows of parties. Does she know about the stuff you say behind her back? Now, go back to the little lady and roll over, with your paws in the air and wait for a belly rub or wait is that to perverted? its going to be along weekend! All My Best, Susie

I'd be willing to bet $10,000 against a doughnut that Susie and Tim go to those parties I was told about.

This store is for adult's only. You can not enter without ID and they do ID everyone. Your children can go into Spencer's, Weigel's, and any Asian Indian owned quick mart type store and find things used for crack pipes. In Spencer's you will find things as naughty (in plain view) of any child or god fearing adult. As far as filth or scum, who are you to judge? Only our Lord will judge us. Chris, Linda, Paul, Jason and any other who share a similar view as commented below, get out of the stone age and stop pretending to be Christian because if you were, you wouldn't be casting stones. The so called scum these adult stores attract happen to be attorney's, physicans, judges, officers of the law and many other RESPECTABLE citizen's. I know this to be fact as I worked in one in downtown Knoxville. Any educated person knows these types of things are made for pleasure and for pleasing others. They can be marriage and savers. Us non judgemental
