Knoxville (WVLT) - Motorcyclists are riding together across America, as they honor the memory of those who've lost their lives fighting for this country.
It's called "Operation Carry The Flame".
They've stopped here for fuel, but they're getting much more. Not only is Rolling Thunder joining them, but they're met by a very patriotic ceremony.
Our local Delta Company Marines are participating, along with local veterans and a flyover by the 134th.
The group is picking up more people as they get closer to their final destination.
The journey began Monday in Arizona. Riders have driven through New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and now they're in Tennessee.
They're making their way to North Carolina next and then heading to Washington DC. They hope to arrive there, at the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, Sunday night in time for Memorial Day.
This year's ride marks a five year ritual and organizers plan to continue that tradition each May.
