Maryville (WVLT) A man's in custody in Maryville, allegedly caught in the act of burglarizing a church there.

He's the same man wanted for stealing a tractor trailer last week.

Blount County Bureau Chief Stephen McLamb reports deputies tell him the burglary happened overnight at the Third Street Baptist Church in Maryville.

An eyewitness tells Blount deputies he caught the suspect, identified by police as Edward Goforth, lining up musical instruments to steal from the church.

The eyewitness chased Goforth down and caught him.

Deputies say Goforth is the same man who allegedly stole a tractor trailer last week in Calhoun, Tennessee, eluding police on a chase into Loudon County.
