Knoxville (WVLT) -- To go along with the fatal shooting in Christenberry Heights, the Knoxville Police Department was busy today working several over shootings around the city.
In the Lonsdale neighborhood of Northwest Knoxville, two separate shootings occurred within 12 hours of each other today on Minnesota Avenue.
Those two shootings sent three victims to the hospital, each with minor gunshot wounds.
The first happened just after 1 AM when a man and woman were each shot in the arm.
An ambulance took one victim to UT medical center and a friend brought in the other for treatment several hours later.
The second shooting occurred just after 1 PM.
Police say three men in a late model Oldsmobile shot Maurice Ligon in the leg.
"We have an investigator on the scene," said KPD Lt. Ronald Green after the shooting. "He's going to go to the hospital, talk to the victim, get some information from him, and see if he knew the suspects and what they may have been wearing and take it from there."
Within an hour of the second Minnesota Avenue shooting, shots rang out across town on Natchez Avenue.
Police have released few details in that shoot, but they did confirm that a minor was shot in his ankle and taken to the hospital for treatment.
All the shootings are still under investigation.
