Knoxville (WVLT) - A federal judge has found Knoxville attorney Herb Moncier guilty of contempt.
In a decision filed Wednesday, US District Judge Ronnie Greer writes that Moncier disobeyed a clear order of the court and he did so with the intent to obstruct the administration of justice.
Judge Greer repeatedly told Moncier not to interrupt him during a hearing last November.
When Moncier persisted, Greer had him briefly jailed.
Greer's stated that it would have been easier and far less time consuming to just ignore Moncier's conduct, but to do so would be to encourage disobedience to court orders.
Moncier faces up to six months in jail when he's sentenced in August.
