Man Killed in Interstate Crash

(WVLT) - A man operating a highway grader was killed in an accident overnight.

The Sevierville Police Department says a semi-truck was heading westbound on I-40 at about 12:30am when the truck left the road and went onto the left shoulder near mile marker 408.

The truck hit a highway grader.

The 50 year-old man operating the grader was thrown from the vehicle and died from his injuries.

Police are not releasing his name at this time.

Investigators say citations are pending against the driver of the semi truck, 38 year-old Vidas Zimkus of Lemont, Illinois.

Zimkus was not hurt in the crash.
