Police Officer Killed, Another Wounded in Domestic Dispute

Memphis (AP) -- A Memphis Police officer was shot to death today and another officer was wounded in a domestic dispute.

Shelby County deputies responded this morning to a call of a shooting at a female police officer's home east of Memphis.

An intruder, who was a male police officer, kicked down the door of the home. He exchanged shots with the female officer and another man in the house.

According to Shelby County Sheriff's Department, the two Memphis police officers had a relationship that had recently ended.

The male officer was killed and the female officer was wounded. She is expected to be released from the hospital later today. Their names have not been released.

The other man and three children in the home were not injured.

Deputies do not know who shot the male police officer.
