World War II Bomber in Knoxville

(WVLT) - During World War II, she was known as the Flying Fortress.

Now, the Liberty Belle, a newly restored B-17 Bomber, is taking to the skies once again.

But this time she has a new kind of mission: to honor our veterans.

The bomber is traveling around the country this year to raise awareness about her mission.

Next year, she'll return to Europe to honor all veterans of WWII.

The Liberty Belle will be at McGhee Tyson Airport's TAC Air Facility on Airport Highway until Friday.
