Dolly Parton Among Honorees At Songwriters Hall Of Fame

New York (AP) -- Dolly Parton will be honored Thursday night in New York by the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

She will receive the Johnny Mercer Award for her career achievements.

Parton's credits include "9 to 5," "I Will Always Love You," and the autobiographical "Coat Of Many Colors." Parton estimates she has written over 3,000 songs and says she writes something every day.

The Sevier County native and Nashville resident already is a member of the hall.
