Foul Weather Strands Travelers at McGhee-Tyson Airport

Knoxville (WVLT) - The weather caused quite a mess at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport Thursday night.

Four hundred flights were canceled due to storms. Most folks spent the night on a cot.

Not quite as bad at Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson, but the weather has stranded several hundred passengers.

Several flights are delayed or canceled especially flights from Chicago and Detroit.

That's where they're seeing some bad storms right now.

Cancellations so far tonight, all Northwest departures.

Three delays: United 6559 to Chicago, Delta 5484 to LaGuardia in New York, and United 8053 to Dulles in DC.

We spoke with a couple who's been traveling since 2:00 a.m. Friday morning.

The weather in Chicago has really put a damper on their plans.

Hear how they are coping tonight at 11:00.
