Laurel County, KY (WVLT) - Autopsies of two Kentucky brothers show they died from hypothermia, after being trapped in the trunk of a car.
Eight-year-old Chase and eleven-year-old Coty Baker died in the trunk of their mom's car over the weekend from extreme temperatures. They had been missing for four hours before they were discovered.
"I had hopes that they went over to a subdivision over there with some of their friends or something, playing a video game. I never dreamed we would find them like we did,” says grandfather Larry Rush.
State police have not filed charges and say the boys accidentally locked themselves in the trunk of an older model car.
In the next half hour, we'll show you what the car industry has done to prevent these tragedies.
