Knoxville (WVLT) -- 63 year's later, folks in the Secret City got the chance to see what the invasion of Europe looked like.
Reenactor's from all over the South gathered this morning in Oak Ridge's A.K. Bissell Park to recreate the allied Invasion of Normandy.
More than 200 reenactor's using authentic vehicles and weapons from the era represented troops from the U.S., Britain and Germany.
One on-looker said the authenticity of the props wasn't what caught his eye.
"Many things," said Frederick Schueler. Most of all I got to see how many of these maneuvers were performed, which I don't usually get to see. I had a great time."
Other events included a field chow line and pre-battle planning session.
