The regional jet they were riding on from Nashville to Houston was diverted to Knoxville when the landing gear would not retract after takeoff.
Continental Express carrier ExpressJet says flight 2175 diverted here because Continental Express has a maintenence facility here.
Continental swapped planes and the passengers took off on the new jet 40 minutes later.

The regional jet carrying 50 passengers and three crew members landed safely in Knoxville.
The passengers are waiting in Knoxville while other accommodations are found to take them on to Houston.
