False Alarm Brings Out Bomb Squad

Knoxville (WVLT) - The Knox County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad says a suspicious package found along Kingston Pike is a false alarm.

Around 9:00 a.m. a utility crew working east of Watt Road found the package and called the Sheriff’s Department.

A Knox County Deputy tells WVLT that the Bomb Squad examined the package and determined that there was no danger.

The scene is now clear and traffic is flowing normally on Kingston Pike.

I have seen a mini-van with a family in it. A little boy put something in the ditch. I thought it was strange, but it was a family...didn't think it could be anything dangerous. This was 4-8 weeks ago maybe?
