Knox County Employee Repays Personal Spending, Resigns

Knoxville (WVLT) – The executive secretary at the center of an audit into questionable spending in the Knox County Mayor’s Office has resigned.

Requitta Bone was accused of using her county-issued credit card to pay for a trip to Orlando.

According to the Knox County Mayor’s Office, Bone has reimbursed the county nearly three thousand dollars and turned in her resignation.

The Mayor’s Office says it will not seek further legal or monetary action against Bone.

It seems the folks did not know the guidelines for spending taxpayer money. The ethics committee is a good idea providing the taxpayers have input into the selection. Enough distrust in city and county governmen. There needs to to an independant audit going back several years to pinpoint the areas of abuse. You can only correct what you know about.

The county needs to pay their own way no were eles do they pay for their parties and etc and it is done here. And all county cares or trucks need to be parked at a place and they can come in the day of work and pick up. To many of them are used for other things and so are the city to. It mayor then be mayor not a free ride on the people no one needs a county credit card. Never
